I am paralleling the evergreen Lingonberry plant of the North with that of the evergreen Laurel of the South, by making a Laurel Crown of Lingonberry leaves on the ceiling of the grafiitti tunnel. Throughout history the Laurel Crown has been a symbol of respect and high cultural achievement. The Lingonberry Crown blends cultural references in a gesture honouring the street artists of Jyväskylä.

Puolukan varvuista maalattu seppele alikulkukäytävän katossa sijaitsevan valon ympärillä rinnastaa pohjoisen ikivihreän puolukanlehden etelän ikivihreän laakeripuun lehteen. Laakeriseppeleen kantaminen on merkinnyt läpi historian arvostusta ja kunnioitusta sen kanssa kulkevalle. Puolukkaseppeleellä nämä samat merkitykset siirtyvät graffittitunnelin maalareille – ars gratia artis!
